PHARMACEUTICAL AFFAIRS
Raj Airey
With over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Raj Airey is a veteran bringing a mix of international operating experience and venture building. His operational experience as a corporate executive in blue chip pharma (Pfizer, Baxter), serial entrepreneur, and venture builder supports Complex Science in commercial strategy.
Mr. Airey brings to the team international and cross-cultural operating expertise, backed by a track record in turnaround business with complex market and leadership challenges. He has run businesses in the UK, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Spain, and India/South East Asia, with organizations having over 1000 employees along with several manufacturing sites supplying products globally. During his corporate tenure as Managing Director at Pfizer and Baxter, he has held several board roles representing industry interests including AMCHAM, pharma associations, and charitable organizations.
Raj has founded and co-founded several new ventures over the years. Directly after his graduate program in 1986, he cofounded Ultimate Expeditions which took groups trekking in the Himalayas, and also began several healthcare ventures including WizzCare Home Health Solutions and HealthStart – India’s first healthcare accelerator.
He continues his work with healthcare innovation as a member of the review board for www.eithealth.eu, the world’s largest healthcare acceleration ecosystem created by the EU as PPP between top universities, industry, and healthcare accelerators in Europe.
Raj has a graduate degree from London University and has undergone executive programs at Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and is an Accredited Executive Coach of International Coaching.

Prof. Andy Goren, MD (h.c.)
Prof. Andy Goren has over 25 years of experience in research, development, and commercialization of breakthrough therapeutics and diagnostics. Among the list of many firsts in dermatology, Prof. Goren was the first to develop a clinical genetic test for predicting androgenetic alopecia, the first to discover epigenetic markers predicting anti-androgen therapy response in female androgenetic alopecia, the first to develop a clinical acne vulgaris antibiotic response test based on P. Acnes bacterial genomics, and the first to develop a rapid test for predicting minoxidil response in androgenetic alopecia.
Prof. Goren was involved in the development, commercialization, and listing of several drugs and medical devices including new therapies for female pattern hair loss, chemotherapy-induced alopecia, excessive hair shedding, female sexual dysfunction, and COVID-19. His latest research is focused on human adaptation to the energy crisis.
Prof. Goren currently serves as an External Medical Advisor and a Co-Researcher at the Trichology Unit, Ramon y Cajal Hospital, Madrid, Spain; a Visiting Professor of Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Clinical Hospital Center Sestre Milosrdnice, Zagreb, Croatia; a Medical Doctor at the Skin & Cosmetic Research Dept., Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital, Shanghai, China; and a Visiting Medical Doctor at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, L.T.M. Medical College Sion, Mumbai, India. As the Clinical Research Director at Samel Hospital, Manaus, Brazil, Prof. Goren has published dozens of peer-reviewed original medical research papers. He is an honorary as well as ordinary member of several dermatology societies worldwide as well as a regular lecturer at dermatology congresses around the world. He has had numerous appearances and interviews on TV, radio, and in prestigious newspapers.
Prof. Torello Lotti, MD (h.c.)
Torello Lotti is Full Professor and Chair of Dermatology and Venereology at the University of Studies Guglielmo Marconi, Rome, Italy. He is Honorary Professor of Dermatology at China Medical University Shenyang (2011), Lecturer at the New York Academy of Sciences “Howard Fox Memorial Lecture” (14 March 2012 – New York, NY – USA), and Chair, Executive Scientific Committee Vitiligo Research Foundation, New York , NY , USA. He has been Full Professor of the Dermatology and Venereology Division at University of Florence School of Medicine, Florence, Italy, from 2006 to 2010. He is Visiting Professor in six International Universities worldwide, and Key Note Lecturer in several international dermatological societies.
His activities in serving Dermatology have been numerous: President of the World Health Academy (2013-present), President of the Italian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (SIDeMaST, 2009-2010) and President of the International Society of Dermatology (ISD, 2009-2010), President of the European Society for Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology (2003-2004), Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (1992-2002), and Editor “Therapeutic Hotline”- Dermatologic Therapy (2007-present).
He has been President of numerous international congresses and is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Giornale Italiano di Dermatologia e Venereologia (2008-2010). He is Ordinary Member of the main Scientific Societies worldwide (EADV, SIDEV, ESDR, ISD, AAD, SID) and Honorary Member of several Scientific Societies of the Dermatology field.
Moreover, he is a Scientific reviewer of ten sectorial journals, among which are the British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Therapy. He has authored 1,054 scientific publications (393 peer reviewed articles, 288 books chapters, and 365 abstracts).

H.E. Ambassador Saïd Hindam
With over 35 years of experience in international relations, H.E. Ambassador Hinham brings definitive, cross-cultural experience in international affairs that will further Complex Science’s mission to facilitate and create client solutions that provide innovative regulatory frameworks enabling accelerated pharmaceutical approval processes.
H.E. Hindam served as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of A.R. Egypt to the Czech Republic and Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of A.R. Egypt to Montenegro (non-resident) from 2018 to 2022. He was Assistant-Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral and Regional Economic Affairs, Cairo and Commissioner of A.R.Egypt to the D8 Organization for Economic Cooperation from 2017 through 2018. In 2016 and 2017, he served Assistant-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director of International Cooperation for Development, MFA, Cairo National Coordinator for the relations with the UNDP.
With distinction, H.E. Hindam served as Ambassador of A.R. Egypt to Pakistan from 2011 through 2015. Just prior, in 2010, he led MFA, Cairo in the position as Head of Policy Planning and Crisis Management Department.
In the 2000s, H.E. Hindam served and led in many notable positions having a significant impact in cross-cultural relations. He was Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for the European Union and Western Europe, MFA, Cairo; Co-president of the Union for the Mediterranean; National Coordinator of Egypt for the Union for the Mediterranean; Member of the Board of Governors of the Anna Lindh Foundation for dialogue between cultures and civilizations, Alexandria, Egypt (2008-2010). He was Minister Plenipotentiary, Deputy Head of Mission of A.R. Egypt accredited to the European Union Institutions, NATO, Belgium and Luxembourg (2006-2008); Head of Central Europe and Baltic States Affairs Department, MFA, Cairo (2005-2006); Head of the Consular Mission of A.R. Egypt in Aqaba, Jordan (2003-2005); Resident Head of Mission, Embassy of A.R. Egypt in Zagreb, Croatia (2001-2003); and First Secretary, Institute for Diplomatic Studies, and in charge of establishing the Cairo Center for Conflict Resolution and Peace keeping in Africa CCCPA, MFA, Cairo (2000-2001).
1999 to 2000 H.E. Hindam was First Secretary at the United Nations Department, MFA, Cairo; 1995 to 1999 he served as First Secretary at the Embassy of A.R. Egypt in Paris, France; 1994 he was assigned to be an International Electoral Observer, the United Nations Observation Mission in South Africa UNOMSA; 1993 to 1995 he was Second Secretary Department of Southern Africa Affairs, then Director of the Cabinet of the Assistant Minister for African Affairs, MFA, Cairo; 1989 to 1993 he served as Deputy Head of Mission and Head of the Consular section at the Embassy of A.R. Egypt in Mauritius; 1988-1989 he Diplomatic Attaché at the Asia Affairs Department, officer of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India MFA, Cairo; and 1986 to 1987 he began his diplomatic career as Diplomatic Attaché Department of the Arab States Affairs, MFA, Cairo.
H.E. Ambassador Saïd Hindam received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the American University in Cairo in 1985 and a Diploma of diplomatic studies at the Graduate Institute for International Studies, Geneva in 1988. Saïd is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
Nour Kandil
With over 8 years of experience in international business development, Ms. Kandil’s wealth of knowledge and strategic contacts will enhance our team’s cultivation of groundbreaking projects.
Ms. Kandil exceptional, global experience includes working with Brazilian multi-national healthcare organizations and the consulates and/or embassies of Turkey, Paraguay, Guatemala, Colombia, Egypt, and Israel — establishing extensive relationships with diplomats worldwide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nour helped to rapidly distribute breakthrough scientific information to health agencies, health organizations, and medical staff. Ms. Kandil graduated from União Dinâmica de Faculdades in Brazil and is fluent in six languages.

Sanja Mlačak
Ms. Mlačak is an experienced PR, marketing, and sales senior executive and a passionate entrepreneur with a proven track record in generating revenues and transforming businesses.
Sanja has over 25 years of experience in international markets and companies, from Rothmans of Pall Mall International in England where she was responsible for implementation of marketing strategies in 27 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia, and German to Croatian media company Europa press holding (EPH) which has been for 20 years the biggest media house in South East Europe, and where Ms. Mlačak worked as CEO of 4Media EPH.

Vojtech Makovec
Vojtech, a partner at rutland & partners since its founding in 2010, specializes in IP, Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Biotech/Pharma. Mr. Makovec’s successful IP and Biotech/Pharma experience allows him to deliver sound solutions for new technologies and their connected legal issues from years of representing innovators and market changers in these challenging and ever-growing fields. Mr. Makovec brings more than 10 years of practice to Complex Science in acquisitions and sales, from due diligence, transaction structuring, full negotiation, to mitigating legal, tax, and all commercial risks involved.
